Bulgarians and Romanians prefer to work full time

Only 2% of the population between 20-64 years old in Bulgaria is working part-time, according to data from Eurostat. From the 28 EU states, researched for this indicator, Bulgaria is in last place, while Romania is situated on 22nd place, those who work part-time there are 6%. The difference between men and women, employed part-time, is the smallest in Bulgaria - 0.4%, while the difference between men and women in Romania in that regard is 0.6%.

The biggest share of part-time workers in the EU is in the Netherlands (47%), followed by Austria (28%) and Germany (27%). The lowest share is in Bulgaria, Hungary (4%) and Slovakia (5%).
