The highest average salary in Bulgaria is in the Information Technologies & Telecommunications sector – BGN 2930, according to the National Statistical Institute. It is more than twice as big as the average salary for the country, which is BGN 1208. That's why more and more people are looking for development and growth in the IT sector, according to the team from the career expo for qualified personnel Career Show 2019.

"Our work with companies and qualified candidates shows that the IT sector is growing significantly. In the preselection of candidates we are doing, the people who are looking for new opportunities in the sphere are 25% more than last year."

Because of the thousands of opportunities for development, the number of people who want to specialize in that field is becoming bigger and bigger. According to data from NSI, the students of technical sciences at the universities in Bulgaria are ranked second in number, while people who have chosen to study IT among 30 specialties are ranked fifth in number.
